Roland Morley MBBS, FRCS, FRCS (Urol)

I am a fully registered medical practitioner, holding degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from London University St George’s Hospital Medical School (1977). I served a cadetship in The Royal Navy as an undergraduate following graduation in 1982, spent 6 years within The Royal Navy gaining my fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of London in 1989.

I then spent 3 years training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, before undertaking research in uropathological aspects of female stress urinary incontinence, and then commenced urological training on the Wessex urological rotation, and was finally appointed to my consultant post at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust in 1998 with a specialist practice in female, functional  and paediatric urology including benign reconstruction , and became Direct tor of medical Education and Divisional Director of Surgery .I moved to Imperial College Healthcare in October 2015, undertaking a specialist practice in female, functional  and paediatric urology including benign reconstruction with gender affirmation surgery.
 

I have served as  a council member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and I am a member of The International Continence Society, and the British Association of paediatric urologists. I am Past President of the Urology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine . I am Immediate Past Chairman of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Urology in the United Kingdom  overseeing all urological training.  I am a final MB examiner, and also examine for FRCS (Urol).I have completed my term as Chairman of the British Association of Urological Surgeons’ Section of Female Urology and Reconstruction and also Chairman of the United Kingdom Continence Society. I have served as committee chair on the NHS England Mesh Review in Urinary Incontinence and Prolapse Surgery and serve as a member of the Pelvic Floor Health  Oversight Group reviewing incontinence services following the Cumberlege Review .

Medicolegal Practice

I have an extensive medicolegal practice which I have been practicing since 2004 . My areas of special interest are in Urology including general urology( including benign prostate surgery) , with special reference to benign reconstruction including incontinence surgery , neurourology and spinal injuries, gender surgery and paediatric urology . I produce 50-60 reports per year . These cases are split as follows:

 

  1. Claimant 35%

  2. Defendant 55%

  3. Joint 10%

In March 18-27th 2022 was part of the team doing a Trek for TUF ( The Urology Foundation ) the hard way to try and raise much needed money for Research and patient support for the Urological community.
